Orange Capital competes in segments of the financial markets with expected annual returns of 30% or more. These segments are traditionally avoided by large institutional investors and therefore offer less competitive and more attractive risk/reward profiles. The fund targets an unlevered anual return of 20%.
Orange Capital tries to make money in situations with either short term catalysts (2-3 months) or long-term growth potential (up to 3 years). The investment process is based on three main pillars:
- businesses undergoing change
- ability to quantify the impact on security prices
- timing
